I had the Islanders play my annual tiki party earlier this month, after seeing them at the now tragically defunct Tabu Tiki nights at Trader Vic's in Chicago.

First, their music is great. We loved it so much, we convinced the band to play an extra set for us! I think it speaks well when a band can play in a tight suburban neighborhood until 11 PM and not get even one complain from the neighbors! Our copy of the CD in now permanently in the car playlist.

Second, they are really nice bunch of guys. Very accomodating, and willing to deal with all the drunks (including me) at the party.

Hopefuly we can schedule them again for next year!
